TQL, JB Hunt, Circle Logistics—they’ve all expanded a lot lately. Whatever system or algorithm they’re using seems to block a lot of carriers. I’ve heard your exact story from multiple carriers recently. It’s always the same response: “We can’t work with your MC.”
My guess is they’re prioritizing carriers with an A rating, fleets of at least 10 trucks, and a dedicated office staff they can contact anytime. It’s not personal—it’s happening to a lot of small carriers.
Also, a word of caution about TQL: they have a reputation for bad practices. Miss one check call, and they’ll try not to pay you. If you sue, they’ll move the case to their jurisdiction, where they have connections.
Honestly, if you’re having to rely on TQL, you might want to reconsider the loads you’re taking. You could make better money doing something else.
