About Drift

  1. For those learning how to dispatch trucks, it’s valuable to understand the driver’s experience. I usually suggest driving a truck first if possible, to get a real sense of what drivers go through like long waits for loads or driving hundreds of miles in a single day. Knowing this can help you relate better with drivers. Additionally, for anyone who wants to know how to dispatch trucks effectively, understanding trucking budgets is critical. You need to calculate each truck’s cost per mile (CPM) regularly. Knowing this will help you make better load choices prioritizing profitable loads rather than those that might cost the driver more in the long run.
  2. I was just told by a broker that they can’t work with me because Carrier Assure has rated me a D-F. I’m a one-truck operation with my own authority, running open deck, with two years in business and one inspection on record. I assume the single inspection might be the issue. I reached out to Carrier Assure, and they’re asking me to pay for their software just to see why my rating is so low. Should I be concerned about this? Update: In NY, you cannot request an inspection. I went into an open scale house and was told inspections must be random they can’t be requested.
