About Favored

  1. I agree. We also alternate who gets the night shift on longer runs so neither driver is overworked at odd hours.
  2. GPS-based systems like Samsara are good too. They offer real-time tracking and even integrate with our dispatch software.
  3. Communication is key. Often, refusal comes from misunderstanding or fatigue. Listening to the driver helps avoid escalation.
  4. We’ve had drivers head to nearby scale houses to redistribute the weight or drop part of the load at a terminal. Staying within compliance is key.
  5. Agreed. We also rotate longer routes among drivers to make sure no one is consistently taking the hardest runs.
  6. Same here. We also use load boards to fill any gaps in routes if we end up with an unexpected deadhead situation.
  7. I agree. Building a good relationship with brokers helps too. They’re more likely to negotiate if you’re a reliable partner.
  8. We do something similar but also try to combine smaller, urgent loads on the same route if possible to keep things moving efficiently.
  9. Make sure drivers are prepared for any issues with cell reception or roadside assistance. GPS systems can be unreliable in remote locations.
  10. I agree. We also notify customers early to manage their expectations and adjust delivery windows as needed
