DO NOT HIRE HIM. He is one of the most disrespectful, insubordinate, and downright childish wheel holders we've ever had to deal with.
His attitude towards employees from safety, fleet, accounting is always negative, even if we're trying to help, he talks back, disregards safety, and even HOS.
Time after time he'd be on a load passing through his home in Columbus, OH, and would not leave to make on-time delivery and would just turn off his phone until he feels like talking. Sometimes your freight will be 2-3 days late.
When confronted about any of his issues, logbooks, loads, or even his driver's license and so on, he will proceed to berate the employee reaching out to him, if it's a phone call he'll scream till his microphone starts breaking up and then once he doesn't get the response he's expecting he'll just hang up and block the number.
Every interaction that he starts, it's only his way or the highway:
* I got my truck and trailer towed, pay for it, oh you need more info ok I can leave them here and you can pick it up yourself. If you charge me for the towing too, you can come to pick it up.
* Pay for this jump start, my truck won't start, I know what I'm doing either pay for this or you can come to recover the truck
* My trailer handle is broken, tell me where to fix it - Can you send us a picture? - No, I will not send you pictures, because it will not fix itself just because I sent you a picture, you can either tell me where to fix it, or next time i will need to drop this trailer you can come deliver the load
And so on and so forth. Every occasion where we are trying to do our job, to document everything that occurs or even collect some plain information you get backlashed and disrespected, threatens to abandon the truck day after day when something doesn't go his way. He is scheduled to be terminated once he returns the truck to the terminal, but time will show if he will even come here, or abandon it somewhere knowing, he's getting terminated.
Edit: And here we have it - The driver was booked on a load to come back to the terminal to "update his truck software" and is driving empty to Columbus, OH to take out his belongings, forcing us to cancel freight.
