Thomas Wood had worked for my company many years ago for the previous owners and contacted me earlier this month looking for a job. All I heard was how he helped start the company 20 years ago.. and he was begging for a job as his co-driver needed experience and they could not find someone to let him train her. Ok, that was 20 years ago, new ownership now, so I gave him and his fiancee a chace. 1st day in the truck he was already complaining bc I hadnt sent rate confirmation just yet- I was busy and working on 17 other drivers as well. It was sent shortly after that. He knew coming on that we run all over and he called after his 2nd load that was from OH to VA about how he didnt like driving mountains and wanted to run southeast only. I explained again how we run. He was always in the background running his mouth when I was talking to his codriver on the phone. 2800 miles in a week as a team, and 2 loads rescheduled due to being behind at their own fault, 3 cancelled loads that we had to recover the truck due to being late. Deadheaded truck from GA-NC and then got mad that he was charged for fuel cost and cussed me out while on the phone with his codriver stating he was going to have me shut down, cussing me and telling me I was a POS that didnt know what I was doing and he was going to call DOT

First he started as lease to purchase owner operator. He broke down the truck that was purchasing and we gave him a chains to work as a company driver. He was always complaining asking for company to loan him money and so on.After we refuse to give for him what he wanted he just came back in the yard and left the truck without any two weeks notice and also stolen the company tablet!!!! BE AWARE!!!

We scheduled him for a job, and he assured us multiple times that he was coming. Based on his word, we purchased a flight ticket for him, but he never showed up and stopped responding. We ended up losing money on the ticket.

If you're considering hiring him, be cautious don’t book flights or any other transportation unless you're certain he’ll follow through.

We hired this CDL driver, and unfortunately, our experience was highly unsatisfactory. His performance was consistently weak, with frequent delays and an inability to meet schedules. Communication was extremely difficult, and when questioned about delays, he often provided unconvincing or inconsistent explanations. Additionally, he abandoned our equipment in Las Vegas, and upon recovery, we discovered significant damages to the truck, as well as stolen items. Given these issues, we'd recommend other trucking companies think twice before hiring him. Please see the pictures attached 🙂

He is absolutely incapable of driving in winter conditions. Despite having 20 years of driving experience, he ended up stranded in the middle of the road because his fuel tanks were simply empty, which cost us $700. The next day, he picked up a load and started threatening that he wouldn’t deliver it, essentially holding the load and the truck hostage. However, the truck was tracked via GPS. We had to call the police and a towing service. I wouldn’t recommend dealing with him at all.

The person submitted an application, we bought him a ticket, and then he disappeared. He seemed reasonable during conversations, but in reality, he's not someone worth dealing with!

We gave this driver many chances to prove himself as a driver.  He boasted about being a hard runner, couldn't wake up in the morning.  Later we found out that he is a gamer.  Plays video games in his truck on his off hours, which is fine.  It only becomes an issue when he couldn't get up in the morning to make deliveries.  Sleeper time for most drivers average 10-11hrs, Mr. Boyd is 15hrs.  When he has to drive early he make mistakes, one such mistake turning into a customer's driveway (left turn), turned so wide that he hooked the guideline on the electrical pole that was in the grass.  No property damage to the customer, plenty of damage to his truck.  Next incident was him pulling into a facility just to turn around and wasn't paying close enough attention and the trailer struck the gate upon entry (left turn).  Company paid for new gate and concert post.  He is not reliable or re-hirable.
