Kevin Corbin started working at my company on September 3 2022. On September 21 2022 got loaded in Capitol Heights MD with a load going to Riverville VA and went to the Pilot truck stop. For 3 days he hasn't replied to any of the phone calls or text messages, I asked the Pilot operator to check on him after 2 days and he told to the operator he has been sick. He was about 100 miles from the delivery. After 3 days he took off from the Pilot and started driving loaded with 44000lbs load, not to the delivery which is 24/7 first come first serve 100miles away but home to Wagner SC which is over 400 miles. He hasn't answered the phone and I was able to communicate just with his wife Petra who was able to reach Kevin. On September 28 I was able to reach him and he told me he was sick and that I can come to pick up the truck because he doesn't want to bring it back to the yard in Illinois and come back on his own. After I promised him that I will help him out with transportation to get home he promised me that he will deliver the load Monday, October 3rd, but Monday he hasn't started and to my message " What is your ETA to the receiver" He replied that he changes his mind and that the paperwork in the truck and I can get it from his yard and the trailer with the load I need to know that is parked at the grocery store in Aiken SC. Just put yourself in a situation when your driver with a brand new 2023 truck ( he picked a truck with 1000 miles on the truck) and a trailer with a load do that to you. After going back and forth on the text messages he asked me to start from all over and I told ok let's start all over. Wednesday, October 5 load has been delivered. On November 17 2022 he went home with the intention to start on November 21 and to make a couple of runs before Thanksgiving. On November 21 he called and asked if he can stay home till after thanksgiving Friday. I said yes sure no problem. We agree that he will start on Friday, November 25, but on Friday he texted that still busy and will start sure on Saturday, November 26 we sent him all info on the new load and he confirmed that received and that all was good. On Saturday he supposes to pick up the load by 1 pm but his phone is off and his wife told me that he is somewhere helping his friend 60 miles away and is not sure when he will be back because she can't reach him. We were forced to cancel the load last minute and the broker was super mad about that. The next day on Sunday phone was still off and his wife told me that don't know what to say........ On December 1st ( almost a week) I tried to call him but was no answer. He called me later in the evening and told me that he is waiting for the glasses and he will pass his medical on Friday and will start on December 3rd Saturday, but again the phone is off cannot reach him. I called on December 6th but no answer. On December 6th he called me and told me he will start Friday, December 9 or Saturday, December 10 at the latest. Since December 10th his phone is off and I can't reach him, today is December 19th and no luck getting in touch with him. On top of that, we have constant issues with him delivering us POD, out of 3 pages getting just one, or very blurry. In my opinion, he is too old for technologies like PDF scanning and emailing it. Planning to fly myself after Christmas on December 27th to get back the truck and to find the trailer. If I knew what he is up to never ever hired him.

This driver went home after receiving his paycheck, then illegally took control of the truck without authorization. He is now demanding $5,000 and threatening to move the truck to a private yard and refuse to return it unless he gets paid.

This is vehicle theft and extortion, and we have already reported the case to the DOT and FMCSA for further investigation.

Warning to any company considering hiring this driver — extremely unprofessional and dishonest behavior.

Warning to all carriers and dispatchers:
This driver dropped the truck with an active load and disappeared without any communication. He left the equipment and freight unattended, ignored all calls and messages.

This kind of behavior is completely unprofessional and dangerous for your business — you could easily lose your customer or face serious claims.

Avoid at all costs – not reliable, not responsible, not trustworthy.

Richard Coleman is a scammer that tries to sue companies for various reasons whether is labor law issues, workers comp, or flat out extortion. I gave this guy an opportunity after he literally begged me for a job only for Richard to tell me send him $20k or he was going to sell the load to the Mexicans and I’d better hurry up because they were following him. I told him go ahead because that’s what insurance is for. Anyway this was a load of expensive Angus and seafood so Richard makes the first delivery from California to Dallas only for him to turn reefer off and trying to spoil the load. He was days late to the second delivery which he was telling me send more money and maybe he’d get up and drive. So what he does is pull over in Rogers County Oklahoma where he was throwing boxes of good products off the truck so I called the police and they came out and made him put the product back on the truck. I ask the police to secure my truck but they couldn’t do anything and told me to report the truck stolen which I did. Well soon as the police left Richard poured DEF in my fuel tanks and ruined my truck!! He went to jail and is currently waiting to answer for his misdeeds!!! Stay away from this guy because he’s definitely mentally unstable and can be dangerous.

    Trailer Hauled: Reefer

    Service period: 04/19/2024 04/24/2024

    Not eligible for rehire.

Gerald Ray Norris claimed to have lost my company fuel card when he was arrested for a DUI after wrecking his car and going to jail in October 2024. Gerald worked for DLI until his license was suspended in May 2025. Gerald somehow managed to get the fuel card back activated in September 2025 and charged about $2300 worth of fuel on my company card. Gerald also doesn’t take care of company equipment and won’t do basic pre trips or check tire pressure and very argumentative about everything!! Don’t hire!!!

This driver has a very bad record — he took the truck hostage and kept driving with company equipment without permission. Completely unprofessional and untrustworthy behavior.

Extremely rude and unprofessional. Saying things like "I don't fuck with junk" "Get the fuck back to your country" and etc. Then after all these words he proceeds to ask to hire him. Not RECOMMENDED!

EXTREMELY picky driver. Starts arguing over a small dent and any minor things. Arranged him a truck swap to a brand new Volvo, but he just packed his stuff and left. Not professional. Not RECOMMENDED!
